Director: Sherry Posadas

Sherry came to the Good Shepherd School in 2014. Her passion for early childhood education was instilled at an early age by a loving grandmother who made learning fun. She has two boys. In her spare time, she loves to watch her children play sports and being on the lake. She is committed to partnering with every family at The Good Shepherd School family so the children can grow and learn in a safe, loving, and Christian environment. Kevin Bassett

 

Curriculum Coordinator: Kevin Bassett

Kevin is married to an incredible second-grade teacher, and they have two daughters: Marley (20) and Lily (15). He recently retired from public education after 29 years in the classroom. It is his hope to provide leadership and guidance to the staff of GSS and to help plan, develop, and implement lessons that will engage the children and set them on the course to be life-long, curious learners. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys playing the guitar, kayaking, and enjoying nature. “I find that nature helps center me spiritually,” Kevin says. You can reach Kevin at kbassett@dorchesterpres.org.

Lynn Mazell

 

Administrative Assistant: Lynn Mazell

Lynn came to The Good Shepherd School in January of 2019 and brought with her 30 plus years of experience in teaching and directing church programs for children. She has seven grandchildren and three bonus grandchildren. She enjoys sewing, crafts, water, and outdoor sports. Lynn LOVES early childhood education because they are so eager to learn. Andi Stem

 

Business Administrator: Andi Stem

Andi was born in North Carolina but has moved to six states with her husband and children for his US Air Force training. She has a BA degree in English, a master’s degree Business Administration and a master’s degree in Christian Education. Andi is an avid environmentalist, a musician, a mother, a wife, and an animal lover. She believes God leads us to opportunity and that God has opened this door for her at GSS. Kayla Martino

 

Food Service: Kayla Martino

Kayla joined the staff of The Good Shepherd School in November 2020. She is the mother of two beautiful kids. She has six+ years of experience working in childcare. She enjoys cooking lunch for all the children at GSS. She loves spending time outdoors with her children, watching movies and reading books with them.

Jennifer Lopez

 

Two-year-old Teacher: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer is a mom and grandmother who has been in early childhood education for 20 plus years. She is a small business owner of handmade bath bombs and spa products and does different types of artworks. She enjoys drawing and painting, reading, and doing anything creative. Jennifer is also very involved with her church and loves giving back to the community.

Laura Burgett

 

Two-year-old Teacher: Laura Burgett

Laura is a mother of two wonderful kids, and one has blessed her with 2 grandchildren. She has been working with kids for over 20 years. She has been with The Good Shepherd school for over two years. She enjoys teaching and watching the children grow. Laura loves to be crafty and have a huge, sweet tooth for anything other than chocolate. She is also a huge lover of all things Disney.

Anita Arbaugh

 

Three-year-old Teacher: Anita Arbaugh

Anita is originally from West Virginia but grew up in Goose Creek, SC. Her father was stationed in Charleston with the Navy in 1983 and they stayed here after that time. She has a son who is 23 years old and a daughter who is 18 years old. She has worked with children since 2009 and learned how ABA therapy can be applied to early childhood education. She decided to incorporate the ABA skills she learned into her classroom.

Kendra Sundstrom

 

Lead Teacher: Kendra Sundstrom

Kendra is a wife and mother of three sons. She is also a new grandma and is loving it! She has worked in the preschool/daycare setting for over 20 years working with infants to four and five-year-olds. Kendra says she loves working with The Good Shepherd School and it has been a true blessing to her.

Nicole England

 

Four-year-old Teacher: Nicole England

Nicole has been working with children of all ages since she was 13 years old. She particularly enjoys working with younger children. Coming from NC, Nicole and her two girls, Gracelyn and Kensie, are new to SC and love it here! She loves spending time with her niece and nephews, Alabama football – ROLL TIDE!, the beach and a good book. She is excited to be a part of the team at GSS and hopes to bring some of her creative ideas to the school.

Laura Sawyer

 

Four-year-old Teacher: Laura Sawyer

Laura grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She is married and a mother of 2 daughters. She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and has over 5 year’s experience teaching in the classroom. I love kids and bring my love of kids, Jesus and learning to The Good Shepherd School.

Caitlin Thames

 

Assistant Teacher: Caitlin Thames

Caitin is from West Ashley but calls Summerville home. She has been teaching children for six years and has mainly worked with two- and three-year-olds. Caitlin loves teaching young children; it is her passion, and they are so much fun to teach and love. When she is not working, she can be found helping to take care of her brother who has special needs and playing with her dog.

Ruth Owens

 

Assistant Teacher: Ruth Owens

Ruth grew up in Mt. Pleasant but has lived right down the street from The Good Shepherd School for over 25 years with her husband and 4 children. She is a retired reading teacher who has missed working with children in the classroom. She is very excited to be a part of the joy and learning found in a preschool.

Angela Beggs

 

Assistant Teacher: Angela Beggs

Angela and her husband of 15 years have lived in a few different areas due to him being in the service. She is a triplet and a very strong family girl. She loves the Lord and is thankful for his many blessings. Angela hopes to show the love for the children they need to feel happy and nourished.

Danielle Pereira da Silva

 

Assistant Teacher: Danielle Pereira da Silva

Danielle is from South Africa and is currently living in Summerville with her husband and two-year-old son. She has over five years teaching experience with children of various ages, some of which had learning barriers and developmental delays. She hopes to utilize her skills to help children reach their full learning potential. Her goal is for the children to love learning as much as she loves teaching.
